Discovery Time - "Miss Matson... can we paint our faces?"

What a cool rocket!

Look at that concentration!

A big project takes a lot of patience and persistence.

All I see is an 'ooga booga' and a pair of blue shoes.

Important research as the sole caregiver of a ladybug!

Hold still bro, I gotta make this symmetrical!

How is the Aurora formed?

Check out this stop motion animation created by Delia! It shows how the Aurora is a solar storm that leaves the sun and hits the earth's magnetic field.

Statistics

This week we are learning about statistics. We will be learning how to sort data into groups. We will also be learning to create a tally chart.

We will then turn our tally charts into bar graphs...

By the end of the week, Mawheranui students will be expert statisticians!

Welcome to Mawheranui!

We are a year 3 to 5 class and our teacher is called Miss Matson.
We are lucky enough to have two classrooms to use. Sometimes we need to get our work done at our desk and work quietly. Sometimes we completely rearrange all the furniture in the other classroom and create our own imaginative environment! Miss Matson likes us to work hard and she expects us to do our best but she also likes to encourage us to try new things, use our imagination, and persist with any new challenges.
